Salem NH-- Christine M. (Chaves) Childs, 52 of Salem NH, died Friday evening, January 26th 2024, at her home after a period of failing health.
Born in Stoughton Mass, June 8, 1971, a daughter of the late Rosemary (Brunelle) Shaffer, and Amos Chaves, she attended Laconia High School and went on to get her graduate degree from Mount Washington College. Christine was employed as a customer service representative for the IRS from which she retired. Christine was known for her love of Wonder Woman, the Red Sox, reading, and mobile games.
Christine is survived by her partner Joanne Faneuf of Salem NH, her ex spouse Christopher Childs of Hopkinton, NH and their two children; son Daniel Childs of Arlington MA, and daughter Katherine Putney and her husband Alfred Putney of North Walpole NH. As well as Christine's three grandchildren Isaac, Ian and Ivan Putney with whom she loved to spend time.
In addition to her immediate family she is survived by her siblings; John Chaves, Donna Bisanti, Lisa Chaves and Jeffrey Chaves as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, She was also the sister of the late Lynne Bossardt, Nora Chaves, Karen Burns, David Chaves, and Michael Chaves.
A memoral service and celebration of life is to follow in the upcoming weeks. In lieu of flowers donations can be made online at rarediseases.org/donate-to-nord or by mail to The National Organization for Rare Disorders Attn: Department 5930 P.O. Box 4110 Woburn, MA 01888.
