John Gotto

December 21, 1950 — July 16, 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of John Frederick Gotto, 71, of Salem, NH on July 16, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born December 21, 1950, he was the dear son of the late Frederick and Shirley Gotto. John was raised and educated in Revere, Massachusetts. After high school John joined the Coast Guard and then perused a career as an independent contractor for J. Shore Trucking and later for Graebel Van Lines. During this time, he married his childhood sweetheart Sandra, and they started their family before moving to Salem, NH.
John was a kind man with a great sense of humor and a generous heart. He enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh with his quick-wit and playful manner. He appreciated music and loved playing the guitar for many years. He shared this passion with his children and grandchildren. John always found enjoyment by watching professional sports and old westerns.
He was a lover of nature. He enjoyed the company of his dogs, fishing, feeding the birds, and the simple pleasures of life at his lakeside home. This love of nature extended to his annual trips to Cobbs Pierce Pond Camps in North New Portland, ME. One of his greatest joys was sharing this experience with his grandchildren at the place he loved so much. While there they enjoyed card games, hiking, fishing, boating, campfires, and hunting. John’s grandchildren called him Papa, but in their eyes, he was the “King of Pierce Pond”. John will forever be in our hearts.
John is predeceased by his loving son Stephen Gotto and brothers Wayne and Kevin Gotto.
John is lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 52 years, Sandra Paradis Gotto; daughter Genine Campbell and her husband Keith and their children Aidan, Calen and Liam of Goffstown NH; daughter Jennifer DeLorey and her husband Shaun and their children Quentin and Landon of Salem, NH; sister Geraldine Simonelli and her husband Nicky of Everett, MA; brother Dennis Gotto and his wife Joanie of Revere, MA; as well as his extended family and many friends.
A private service will be held at the family’s request. Memorial donations may be made to: Pierce Pond Watershed Trust
