Shirley Malley

February 25, 1954 — September 3, 2022

Shirley fought a lengthy and courageous battle against COPD. She contracted COVID-19 at Fairhaven in Lowell, where she had been in hospice care for a short time. She was not able to conquer both aggressive diseases so Our Lord mercifully called her home. True to her good nature and loving heart, Shirley was more concerned with leaving her partner behind than by knowing she would soon be with the Angels.

Shirley was a long time resident of Lowell, MA. She was the beloved partner of Diane Muccioli. They enjoyed 31 happy years together. Devoted Shirley was right by Diane's side as Diane fought lymphoma and heart failure. And Diane was right by Shirley's side in her final hours.

Shirley was the daughter of Richard Malley and Rita Archambault of Pepperell, MA both deceased. She is survived by her lifelong love, Diane Muccioli, the Muccioli family, her Aunt Bonny Archambault, her brother Michael Malley, as well as many friends, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by brothers Bobbie Malley, Dickie Malley, Dennis Malley, and Tom Malley. and her Uncle Lenny Archambault.

Shirley was a retired Resident Manager at Heritage Properties in Lowell for many years. It was hard work but she never complained. She never said an unkind word about anyone and was generous with what little she had. She was a wonderful cook and loved to garden as well. She loved her Coca - Cola! She enjoyed watching Diane sing and shred guitar at local night clubs. She was always guaranteed to have the best seat in the house. They both enjoyed "roughing it" camping in their RV at Wyman's Beach. It was a rare day not to see Shirley flashing that beautiful
smile. She loved cats and squirrels. They kept her entertained for hours on end. She rescued and adopted several cats and she loved them all to old age having given them the best of care. She didn't lead a fancy life, but she found wealth in her family and friends. All of whom miss her dearly.

Shirley will always be remembered as a bright light that became a star in the sky where wishes are granted.

There will be a Celebration of Life brunch held in her honor at The Boat in Dracut, MA. All of Shirley's and Diane's family and friends are welcome! It will be on Saturday, September 24th from 12 to 3.
